Are you going to Heaven?
We believe that everyone is going somewhere when they die. Perhaps you find yourself asking life’s greatest question, “How does a person get to heaven, or how can you know you will go to heaven?”
The good news is that the Bible has the answer to life’s greatest question!
First we need to recognize that there is a problem!
The Bible tells us that we are all a sinners separated from God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23)
Second we need to understand that there is a consequence for that problem!
We must realize that because of our sin we will all die, physically and spiritually. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Third we need to believe that there is a solution for the problem that we cannot, buy, earn, or inherit, we can only receive as a gift because of nothing we have done and everything that God has done through Christ, for us!
God gives us hope! For God so loved the World… (That’s you and me!) that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life! (John 3:16)
Jesus did the work! But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8)
Fourth we respond to God's invitation through the Holy Spirit!
We can be brought back into a right relationship with God! That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
Finally we can live confidently as a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords!
We can know for sure that we are going to Heaven! For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
We can know for sure that we cannot lose our Salvation! 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. (John 10:27-29)
If you do not have a relationship with God, you can pray today and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and forgive you of your sin. Recognize you are a sinner, and believe by faith that He died on the cross to be your Savior. Believe He was buried, and that He rose again the third day, and one day will return.
If this is the desire of your heart, here is a prayer that may help you take your next step.
Pray,
Dear Lord Jesus, right now I realize that I am a sinner, and that my sin separates me from you. I understand that because of Your great love for me, I believe and accept your payment for my sin on the cross. By faith I surrender my life to You right now, believing you died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose from the grave. Thank You for loving me, and saving me. I surrender my life to You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
We would love to hear from you if you have made a decision to trust Christ as your Savior.
